New Business Card Technique

In the July/August 2017 Somerset Studio issue, an article showcasing a technique using packing tape made me want to try this myself!  I used a large business card as my template and got out my paper scraps.
Sewing the edges on my Featherweight proved problematic as I had to change the tension, the needle got sticky and after several attempts, I decided if I made more, I would use a different method of finishing the edges.  I love my Featherweight too much for this sticky mess.

I'm going to make some postcards to send out....later!

Guts

I enjoy using this quote and love using the paper dolls from the Tim Holtz's collection.  It's hard to see in this photo but the color wash on the prepared canvas page looks very much like a soft leather.  I really enjoyed making the background for this page.

Set Sail

If you have this stamp set from Character Constructions, you'll want to purchase the die cut for the umbrella - makes creating so easy!  The background is a canvas page in Dina Wakeley's mixed media journal using stains and stencils.

Trust Yourself

The kraft paper in Dina Wakeley's journal at first was hard for me to work with as I am accustomed to working on lighter surfaces.  However, I have found that I am enjoying using the same techniques for other surfaces on this one.... don't know why it was such a struggle.  I now love the kraft tags in my stash and started using those too.
